All About Me

R&J Friar

Hi, my name is Joel Kuntz, and I am a second year student at the University of Regina’s Faculty of Education.  I started in the Secondary Education program, with a major/minor of Chemistry/Drama, but I have recently switched to Arts Education with a major/minor of Drama/Secondary Literature.  I graduated in 2010 from Miller Comprehensive High School and was given the honour of being Valedictorian for my graduating class.

I am an arts enthusiast, consistently going to plays, musicals, concerts, and the like, and always looking to audition for such things as well!  I have been performing in theatre for 11 years of my life, starting off in plays and improv, and eventually working my way to musical theatre. My most recent participation in Regina’s theatre world are The Nutcracker (2012),  The Rocky Horror Picture Show (2012, 2011), Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night (2012), Seussical (2012) and Romeo and Juliet (2012).

I sing in a barbershop chorus called Harmony 2 Go Youth Barbershop Chorus as one of the original members and senior members, and have participated in a Canada wide chorus called Cross Canada Chorus that goes to annual youth competitions in various cities across the continent, most recent being Orlando,  Tuscon, Las Vegas, and Tampa Bay.  I am also a member of the Regina Lyric Show Choir, which is a choir started up by the Regina Lyric Opera company this year.

I am an avid 5-pin bowler, recently having graduated from the Youth Bowling Canada organization this year, but I have been a bowler for 16 years, and will continue to bowl as long as I can.

Until this point I have been quite professional, but now for a little personal touch.  I love playing cards with family and friends, learning new games and mastering old ones.  I play nerdy board games with my brother and our friends, and often conquer galaxies and save the human race on a bi weekly basis.  I love to read fantasy and adventure novels, but a good mystery is just as exciting.  MY favorite shows to watch are Criminal Minds, NCIS, House, and anything touched by the magical hands of Joss Whedon.  I like to be the funny guy in a situation, most times it is actually at my expense, but I love to hear people laugh.  I hope you enjoy my blog, as I hope to enjoy running it and adding to it as much as I can.
